The Stable at Bluemont Vineyard: Preferred Vendor Spotlight | A Peaceful and Scenic Vineyard Wedding Venue in Loudoun County

Reception space barn photo of roomI had the chance to sit down and meet with the events coordinator Debbie from the stunningly beautiful wedding venue The Stable at Bluemont Vineyard in Bluemont, Virginia! The Stable is a renovated, temperature-controlled rustic barn reception space and the views from the grounds of Bluemont Vineyard are just breathtaking. The winery and The Stable itself are positioned on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge mountains with a stunning view of Loudoun County. Before we jump into the Preferred Vendor Spotlight with Debbie, I wanted to share some quick highlights of the venue:

  • Last year, The Stable at Bluemont Vineyard was voted the number one wedding venue in Loudoun County and is such a perfect escape from the city
  • A great mix of easy-going but also elegant, The Stable has the right blend of rustic charm and modern which can turn into any bride’s vision
  • They are hassle-free with on-site coordinators and in-house catering
  • The scenic views and wine country atmosphere are peaceful and truly one-of-a-kind
  • Bluemont Vineyard and the brewery next door (Dirt Farm Brewing) are family-owned and operated (by the same family!) which makes the service very personable

When did your venue open?

We bought this 100 acre track fourteen years ago and began weddings here at The Stable!

How many guests does your venue hold for an event?

The max is 200 guests, but we have had anywhere from 25 guests up to 200.

(A little side note in reference to the photo below on the right: The heart stone is where the bride and groom stand during their ceremony, with that spectacular view behind them!)

How far out should a client pay a deposit to secure your services?

I tell clients that if you’re looking for a holiday weekend or a Saturday, the average is about 18 months out.

What feature/element of your venue are brides most often excited about?

We have a beautiful view here and on a clear day, we can see the skyline of Herndon, Reston, and Tyson’s Corner. And up top at the winery, with binoculars, you can see the top of the Washington Monument. The view is probably the number one feature that sells most on the venue. People also love the fact that the venue is private, rustic but also elegant, and they can really make it their own!

Most brides worry about what happens if they have rain on their wedding day — what is your ceremony setup like on a rainy day?

It depends on the size of the guest list — if it’s about 100 folks, we can fit about 100 people out on the veranda where they’re covered from the elements. We can also move the ceremony inside and move tables aside and set seats up for guests. If inside, the couple will decide whether or not if they want their guests to sit at the tables or if they want their guests to stand. Typically, most want their ceremony to be a little more intimate and the guests will typically stand. We have done many of them this way and this decision can be made fairly last minute.

What makes Bluemont Vineyard unique?

I think the serenity out here makes it unique as well as the view. People just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. They want to share in a peaceful place, and this is what they find!

What is your best piece of planning advice to a new bride?

We really consider ourselves a well-oiled machine here! We have an event planner that we assign to them as well as a day-of coordinator who are familiar not only with how to run an event, but they also know the nuances of the building. The best advice we can give them is that we know what we are doing and you are in good hands with us!

Some final thoughts:

We’ve had so many great couples! We want our couples here as guests and not have to worry about the stress of a wedding and the different pieces that go into putting a wedding together. We have a great staff and we have in-house catering which has made it easy for folks. In our fourteen year history, we found a great catering company based out of Round Hill, Savoir Fare! They were voted best of Loudoun County for five consecutive years in a row and they are our in-house caterer. This last year, we were voted the Best Wedding Venue in Loudoun County, which is such a humbling honor.
