I arrived to Riverside on the Potomac and Madeline and Luke were both exactly how I pictured they would be — calm and collected, but at the same time so excited and ready to be marrying the love of their lives that day. One of the biggest observations I made on the wedding day was regardless of how crazy the timeline was, or trying to get people here or there, the second that those two saw each other, a calm melted over the day. The day unfolded flawlessly from a lovely ceremony that joined them as husband and wife, to beautiful and heartfelt speeches, to an incredibly fun dance floor with their eight-piece band. You really couldn’t ask for a more beautiful way to start your lives together.
Madeline and Luke, it has been SUCH a privilege. Not just to photograph one of the best days of your life, but to get to know you and your story. Even I, someone who has only met you through your engagement, got choked up a few times behind the camera — I can’t even imagine how your family and friends felt that day. You are truly meant for each other and I am SO happy to have been given the opportunity to show that to the world. You’re just the best. Have a spectacular honeymoon! xoxo, Sara
