About Us | Our Story
"I need to introduce you to my guitarist -- you'll really love his sense of humor", my brother said to me one fall day in 2006 sitting across from me at our kitchen table in Norfolk, Virginia. Knowing my preference for dry, witty sarcasm, he knew I would jive well with Adam, the lead guitarist in the band he had recently joined called The Jayden Sentence. When I arrived to watch one of their shows at a bar in Virginia Beach, I was so excited to meet Adam but quickly overwhelmed when I saw how cute he was. I nervously shook his hand and attempted to say hello as I tried to compete with the loud music and background noise at Gil's. Watching him play that night, I could see how passionate he was with music and how insanely talented he was as a musician. After that first show and a cute little message he sent to me via MySpace thanking me for coming out to their show (yes, it really was THAT long ago that we were together), the rest was history.
We were married in October (our favorite month) of 2009 and honestly, the last eight years of marriage have gone by way too quickly.
Other than leaving the wedding with the best man in the world as my husband and the memories we had, I knew we'd only ever have our photos and video to look back on to remember our day. We hired our wedding cinematographers and they flew in all the way from Seattle. Our wedding video and photos are some of the most treasured memories we have from that day. This is precisely where my interest to become a wedding photographer began. Since I received my BFA in Graphic Design, I believe wholeheartedly it helps me tremendously in this field. I know that Adam's passion for music, film, and storytelling have helped him to stand apart as a wedding filmmaker.

If I could have dinner with one famous living person, it would be Dr. Jane Goodall.
I have loved Broadway and the opera since I was a little girl.
If I could travel anywhere today, it would have to be Africa because there are so many endangered species living there that I would love to see in person.
My guilty pleasure is binge-watching episodes of Roseanne.
I still have the opening storytelling dialogue from the movie "Beauty and the Beast" memorized.
I literally can't sleep with socks on or I feel like I'm suffocating.
Adam says that if Sara were an animal, she would be a horse for her gentle nature and devotion.
Sara is the type of person that you walk away from and think: "I'm not sure what it is, but there is something truly special about this woman". I can tell you a little bit about what that is: It is her kind and humble nature. It creates a sort of enigma that draws you into her circle and makes you feel like you belong. She has such a unique and intoxicating beauty about her and it just beams from her in everything she does. It mixes with her delightful charm and makes it to where you just can't help but want to be around her. Her passion often consumes her, which tends to make her a bit of a softy and an intensely diligent worker and businesswoman. She wears her heart on her sleeve, she has a smile that can rival the sun, and a laugh that often stops my heart. She is unwavering in the love she has for her family, her babies (fur) and her work. But it is her work that truly drives her. It is where she comes alive with passion and creativity. Whether it be her true love of photography, her fondness for calligraphy and pyrography, or her secret talent for recognizing popular melodies in the most obscure and random patterns ever, she will put her entire self into it. I am a lucky one because I get to spend every day with this woman. I get to watch her become something new every day. I get to watch her be a kind and caring mother to a house full of forgotten animals. I am lucky because I get to do these things. But with Sara being the talent that she is, anyone can steal some of my luck and get this photographer that will take such care of your special day. A day that, for me, was indeed one of the greatest days of my life.

I love philosophical discussions and ethical debating.
If I could travel anywhere, it would be British Columbia to see wolves in the raw wilderness.
My guilty pleasure is anything by Seth MacFarlane or Mike Judge.
My current favorite author and book is China Miéville’s “The Scar”.
My favorite film director, who is a huge influence on my work, is Christopher Nolan.
Sara says that if Adam were an animal, he would be a wolf for his extreme loyalty and strength.
Adam is the quiet observer who can make everyone in the room roar with laughter with his dry (and sometimes a bit dorky) sense of humor. He is the rational, logical thinker whose opinion I always seek and value so much. He is the kind of man who, no matter where we are going, always pulls the car over to help a turtle cross the road or walks into traffic late at night to save a little lost chihuahua stuck and trying desperately to make it across the lanes (this is also how our Sophie came into our lives). He is the kind of friend who you can call on to ask a favor, but he'll never ask for anything in return. He is the kind of husband who wakes up early to make me coffee, makes sure that I'm hydrated before I leave for a wedding, and is waiting for me as I'm walking out of the door with snacks and water for my bag. He is the supporter who reminds me to take a spa day to myself and makes sure I take time to relax and unwind every once in a while. He is the encourager who told me that I should go for my dreams and make this business my full-time career. He is the jack-of-all-trades who is so talented at so many different things, I often wonder if there is anything he can't do. He is the business partner who mirrors my high standards and drive to always push harder when it comes to the work we produce, but also understands how to keep me grounded. He is the guy I'm so proud to have standing next to me and one of the people in my life that I owe so unbelievably much to. He is not just my husband, he is unquestionably my best friend, and I'm so grateful we can share in this amazing venture together.
