Fredericksburg VA Lifestyle Newborn Photos | Baby Will

William was just two and a half weeks old when I came over to photograph his lifestyle newborn session. It was my first time meeting this awesome family and I was greeted by their sweet golden retriever Penny at the door with allllllll the tail wags and kisses, which is definitely my favorite way to enter any building. =) Will is such a beautiful boy and his family could *not* be more in love with him. He was terrific throughout the whole photoshoot and was very interested in what was happening and only had to take a couple of breaks! I love that Penny was able to be included in their session because they told me she is their first kid and has been such a good big sister to Will. Special thanks to Nick’s sweet mom for being a big help during the session!

Lifestyle newborn photography is a wonderful way to forever preserve memories of a new baby’s earliest days at home. In fact, I love this style so much that it is my only focus when photographing newborns. A combination of elements from classic portraiture and documentary photography allow for photos that document authentic connections and interactions between baby and his/her family. This approach to photographing newborns is more about photographing the experience of welcoming a new child into the family. I don’t direct much at all during lifestyle sessions but moreso control where we photograph based on the space and the natural light. My purpose is to just candidly capture the family being together. I had a hard time narrowing this post down to not overwhelm you cause there were so many cute moments, so I hope you all enjoy a preview of some of my favorites from their session!

If you are interested in a lifestyle session for yourself and want to see more, be sure to check out our other work as well!
